Today is Tuesday so we are going to talk about how to grow our DIVIN3FAM1LY!
Proverbs 22:6
Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it.
In the 2022 Movie “Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile” struggling magician and entertainer Hector P. Valenti can’t catch a break, the story opens up of him sneaking onto audition for a TV Contest and miserably failing. In his desperation he goes to a pet shop looking for an animal he can use in his act. While he is waiting for the store owner to look for an animal suitable for him he over hears a small baby crocodile singing. The light bulb goes off in his mind and he begins immediately training “Lyle” the Crocodile with an elaborate singing duet with him. However, when it comes time to perform Lyle has stage fright and refuses to sing.

Hector leaves “Lyle” and while he is gone a new family moves in the house. The family is a young couple with one teenage boy. To make the long story short Lyle helps reignite everyones passion in the family. With the mother Lyle teaches her how to fall in love with cooking again by not sticking to recipe so regidly. With the father he gets him back into wrestling again that helps him have for cofidence at work as a educator. And with the boy he finds true friendship rather than someone who wants to just use him for his talents.

At the end of the movie, spoil alert even though it seems like Hector had a change of heart, he is still obsessed with making money with Lyle’s talent however the family doesn’t want to go on tour rather they want to go on vacation and spend time with each other.

Many musicians, artists, poets, short filmmakers, etc. get caught up in the chase for fame and fortune because they are from families who never experienced unconditional love and support. They think if they reach enough fame or fortune that hole in their heart can be filled.

This is why it’s so important for us to remember the Gospel that Jesus gave up His life for us so we can have relationship with GOD. Also that now we are apart of the family of GOD. Brothers and Sisters in Christ that will forgive us when we mess up and encourage us when we do well.

May this movie be a reminder to us all that we all need family, a community of believers that will love us and not try to use us for our talents. The people that try to abuse and use others are usually people who have been abused and used themselves, until they can truly experience a healthy and thriving community or family they can heal, grow, and trust again.
