Can You Teach Me How To…

Has anybody ever asked you can you teach me how to...(fill in the blank) ?

If they have this means you are an expert or exceptional in that subject.

The 3 most common subjects I get asked to teach are:

- Can you teach me how to rap?

- Can you teach me how to teach or preach?

- Can you teach me how to play basketball?

If you were one of Jesus' disciple what would you ask Him to teach you? Would it be: Jesus, teach me how to turn water into wine. Jesus, teach me how to multiple food. Jesus, teach me how to heal the blind, the sick, the lame. Jesus, teach me how to teach and preach. Jesus, teach me how to walk on water. Jesus, teach me how to come back to life! Out of all these things that Jesus did, the disciples only asked Him to be taught how to do one thing.

Jesus, teach us to pray!

Luke 11:1-4 says, Now Jesus was praying in a certain place, and when he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John taught his disciples.” And he said to them, “When you pray, say: “Father, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread, and forgive us our sins, for we ourselves forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation.”

May people ask us one day, "Can you teach me how to pray?
