Treasures in Heaven
19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.
20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.
21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Don’t wait until you’re about to die for you to start giving your life away. Start dying everyday like the Apostle Paul shares with us in 1 Corinthians 15:31 “I protest, brothers, by my pride in you, which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die every day!” The Apostle Paul also echoes this same idea in Galatians 2:20 where he wrote, “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
When people are about die because of sickness or age there are 3 common things I observed that people do.
#1 Being with Family and Friends: deciding how to give their time away
#2 Planning their will: deciding how to give their money away
#3 Downsizing: deciding how to give their possessions away
Giving time, money, and possessions.
Since we are called by God to build our treasure in Heaven and not on earth, let’s not wait until we get sick or learn that we are about to die to give away our time, money, and possession for the sake of the Kingdom of God.
How can you give away your time today to build the Kingdom of Heaven?
How can you give away your money today to build the Kingdom of Heaven?
How can you give away your possessions today to build the Kingdom of Heaven?
Let’s be like the Apostle Paul and not wait to die from sickness or old age but die everyday by giving away our time, money, and possessions for the sake of the Kingdom of God! Everyday.
Dying Everyday so Christ can Live in me Everyday!
