What is the activity you have spent the most time on? Sleeping, eating, pooping, playing video games, playing an instrument, reading books, watching YouTube videos? For me it’s the beautiful game of Basketball. I remember one day when I was in 4th grade I walked to my elementary school crying like I had a storm in my eyeballs. I don’t even remember why I was sad but I remember what cheered me up and comforted me. I found a basketball on the ground near the courts and decided to shoot it towards the hoop. Woo Hoo! He shoots! He scores! I made it on my first try! It felt so good I kept on shooting and the ball kept on going in.

Ever since then I loved the game of Basketball. Before that Baseball was my first love of sports but Basketball took over. Growing up one of my dreams was to make it to the NBA! Even though I didn’t make it to the NBA I made it to the GBA. When sharing this at Valley Elementary School in Dublin one of the students said, “What’s GBA? Grandpa’s Basketball Association!” HAHA! NO! GBA = God’s Basketball Association. I’m so grateful and thankful that I get to play the game I love for the Glory of God!

One of my favorite places to play basketball is at San Quentin Prison. The Brothers in the “Q” are my basketball mentors! They show so much love and appreciation and also have the highest level of sportsmanship I have ever experienced on the Basketball court.

Let’s represent God wherever we go!
